Notebook Search Information

I use the dual monitor feature with my windows xp laptop. why doesn't remember that my laptop is one the left? - dual monitor docking station

I keep my laptop to the left of my screen and use it as a second monitor (# 2). When the team is reminded of using two monitors (which is again) in the dock almost always think of the screen of my laptop is on the right side of my external monitor. Why? How do I solve this problem permanently?
